The most recent announcement by the Qld Government detailing changes to Stage 3 of the COVID Restart Plan, enables the clubhouse reopening date to be brought forward. The opening date will now be Wednesday 8th July, which will also include Locker Rooms and low-level toilets.
The sale and consumption of alcohol on course also formed part of the recent announcement and effective noon today 3rd July; beverages will be available for purchase from the golf shop and throughout the weekend at the halfway house. Importantly, eskies are returning to carts, fridges restocked, and the ice machines are working overtime.
The period of closure proved an excellent time to complete overdue housekeeping tasks, both inside and outside the clubhouse, with the most significant being the repairs to the rear of the building. Importantly the Smoking Management Plan was also updated, and these changes will come into effect on reopening.
As encouraging as the changes Stage 3 of the Restart Plan brings, it is not a return to what we once knew as “normal”. The clubhouse experience will be different, operational restrictions remain, and they must be observed. The formal adopting of an Industry COVID Safe Plans is a condition of the club reopening and having both sport and hospitality activities requires the acceptance of two separate plans. These plans can be found at
I wish to thank everyone for their effort to date in observing COVID operational rules and regulations, and my thanks in advance for your adherence to the next stage.
The employee team are excited to be welcoming members back into the clubhouse, and we encourage everyone over coming weeks/months to find time to come up and enjoy a beverage or something to eat.
