The miserable weather conditions and consistent showers have the course conditions worsening rather than improving. A course inspection late this afternoon, Friday 20th May, has the course very close to unplayable. (4:30pm). It will only take a small amount of overnight rain for the course to be closed tomorrow (Saturday 21st May).
The course staff have mown as much of the course as possible, however, several fairways and all the rough, have not seen a mower for close to 10 days. If play is to occur over the weekend carts will only be permitted on Paths (absolutely no exceptions inclusive of Orange flag holders). A decision on the Saturday play will be made as early as possible in the morning and will be communicated on this site.
Player enjoyment, welfare, weather predictions and preservation of the course will all contribute to the decision-making process.
