Self-Score Submission with the MiScore

This new self-score submission functionality has the full support of Golf Australia during the COVID-19 period. “This functionality complies with all requirements of the Rules of Handicapping and the Rules of Golf as outlined by the R&A and Golf Australia for the COVID-19 period. In addition, Golf Australia strongly supports the increased use of technology in the formal scoring process. We believe this is a significant advancement for the game of golf.” – Golf Australia

New self-score submission process

  • This will be operational at Keperra for single events from Monday July 13th.
  • Players can score and submit their own score once approved by their playing partner, verbally or by signature.
  • The MiScore app user will submit their own score; NOT their marker’s score as currently occurs.
  • Swapping cards or submitting your marker’s score by card or MiScore is no longer required.
  • Players will continue to keep score of their playing partner (marker), as they already do, in order to confirm/check their playing partner’s score.

Golf Australia – Covid-19 Local Rules to Remain

Under the Industry COVID Safe Plan for Outdoor Team Sports, clubs & facilities need to be aware that flagsticks, rakes, NTP markers and scorecards, fall into the definition of shared equipment. Shared equipment needs to be sanitised effectively after each use.

As a result, Golf Australia recommends that golf clubs & facilities continue to apply the local rules within the Play Management guidelines that avoid the need to handle shared equipment.

In stage 3 clubs & facilities may;

  • play in groups of four
  • hold shotgun & multi-tee starts
  • have two people per cart

Clubs & facilities must ensure that;

  • if available, bookings should be made online, via phone or via text message. There should be no ‘roll-up play’.
  • scorecards, if in use, should be distributed and collected using PPE
  • motorised carts, rental clubs, push buggy and sand bucket handles are sanitised before and after every use.

The 9 Hole Medley Competition will have allocated tee times at 7:08am, 7:16am, 9am-9:16am which once again Ladies and Gents can book.

Thursday timesheets will again have the same allocated nine hole tee times as Tuesday. All other times will be open to both Ladies and Gents.

Gents Matchplay A, B & C Grade Final Results

Sunday the 5th of July saw the final matches of the Gents A,B & C Grade Matchplay Championships being contested.

The A Grade Final saw current Club Champion Jordan Rooke taking on Scott Draper, in a high quality match Scott was able to game some revenge by edging out Jordan 3 & 2.

B Grade had the number 2 seed in Andrew Wren taking on 8 seed David Byrnes, in another tight tussel with Andrew coming through 2 & 1.

C Grade was the closest match of all with up and coming junior Ben Dowling facing off against Tony Bull, teeing off the 18th Ben held a 1up advantage but was unable to convert his lead to victory. It would take until the 20th hole with Ben holing a nice 5 foot putt to take the win.

Congratulations those who came out on top yesterday, for further details please click on the appropriate link below.

Clubhouse Reopening

Clubhouse Reopening

The most recent announcement by the Qld Government detailing changes to Stage 3 of the COVID Restart Plan, enables the clubhouse reopening date to be brought forward.  The opening date will now be Wednesday 8th July, which will also include Locker Rooms and low-level toilets.

The sale and consumption of alcohol on course also formed part of the recent announcement and effective noon today 3rd July; beverages will be available for purchase from the golf shop and throughout the weekend at the halfway house.  Importantly, eskies are returning to carts, fridges restocked, and the ice machines are working overtime.

The period of closure proved an excellent time to complete overdue housekeeping tasks, both inside and outside the clubhouse, with the most significant being the repairs to the rear of the building.  Importantly the Smoking Management Plan was also updated, and these changes will come into effect on reopening.

As encouraging as the changes Stage 3 of the Restart Plan brings, it is not a return to what we once knew as “normal”.  The clubhouse experience will be different, operational restrictions remain, and they must be observed.  The formal adopting of an Industry COVID Safe Plans is a condition of the club reopening and having both sport and hospitality activities requires the acceptance of two separate plans.  These plans can be found at

Clubs Plan

I wish to thank everyone for their effort to date in observing COVID operational rules and regulations, and my thanks in advance for your adherence to the next stage.

The employee team are excited to be welcoming members back into the clubhouse, and we encourage everyone over coming weeks/months to find time to come up and enjoy a beverage or something to eat.

Miscore Update

Miscore Update

Following a directive received by Golf Australia last week, Members will now be able to mark and submit their own scorecards via the app (MiScore).  Effective from July 4th/11th, Keperra’s Members will mark their own scores NOT their playing partners provided VERBAL APPROVAL IS OBTAINED following the round.  Members will however continue to keep score of their playing partner in order to confirm/check their playing partner’s score as Members do already.

Marshal Survey

Marshal Survey

As the Club moves to restart its activities, many of the operational changes that accompanied COVID-19, are being evaluated for longer-term value.

One of the more visible changes was the introduction of course marshals, to assist with overseeing social distancing & regulating on-course compliance.  The volunteer marshalling team, led by Helen Blanchfield, has done an excellent job in safeguarding both the Club & the membership throughout this challenging period.  Furthermore, the impact their presence has had on pace of play has seen significant & average round times reduced dramatically.

Without the generous support of these volunteers, the costs associated with delivering marshalling would have likely seen it unviable or dramatically scaled back.

To better understand member views on course marshalling and the potential for more member volunteers, we are seeking feedback via a short survey.  The survey will take no more than 2 minutes to complete, with responses required by 5:00 pm Friday 3rd July 2020.

We thank you in advance for your time and insights.
