Multi-Tee Trial – Trial to start Nov.6th

Multi-Tee Trial – Trial to start Nov.6th

Members may be aware of a move towards Multi Tee options for players in competition rounds. This topic has been discussed at length by the Match Committee and the decision has been made to trial this option for Members, beginning with the Wednesday Competition on the 6th of November. At this stage we will only offering this option to our Male Members, as the ability to provide our Women Members another alternative is currently limited due to a lack of tee blocks located in a position where tees can be moved any further forward. However, with the recent newly constructed tee blocks, we are confident of being able to get additional course ratings for both the Women and Men.

Below is an explanation of the factors that are used to determine a players Daily Handicap.

Scratch Rating

A scratch rating is a number that indicates what a scratch golfer (a golfer that averages par for a round) should shoot on this particular course. So, while the par for a particular course might be 72, a scratch rating of 74 would indicate that a scratch golfer should be two over par on average. This indicates that the course is harder than an average course and the player’s handicap is increased by 2 to factor in this difficulty.

Slope Rating

The slope rating is a measure of how much the difficulty of a course increases for the handicap golfer. The further the player’s GA Handicap is from Scratch, the greater the impact of the Slope Rating on their Daily Handicap will be.

How will these ratings affect my handicap?

When a slope rating is higher, only the players with more handicap will receive additional benefit. When a scratch rating is higher than the par of the course, all players will benefit and receive additional shots on their handicap at the start of their round.

Multi-Tee Competitions

In competitions, players at the start of their round can select which tee to play from, their handicap will then be adjusted based on the slope handicap system. As a member, if you choose to move to a forward tee box, your handicap will be adjusted down and if you choose to go further back your handicap will increase. At this stage of the trial, we will only be offering Members the option of moving to a forward tee.

As a trial, all tee blocks will be incorporated into the same competition. If you are feeling like a less stressful round, you can choose to move forward to one of the other shorter tee positions, all whilst still competing in the field.

Registering for a Daily Competition

We will be trialling a new registration procedure with each competition having a default set of tees for both men (Blue Tees) and women (Red Tees), however you will have the option to move to a forward tee, if you choose. As there will be more tee options, and tee choice may change depending on where other players in the group are playing from, please make yourself familiar with the procedure below. Our friendly Golf Shop team will be on hand for any help required.

As is the current procedure, players will still need to check in and pay for a competition in the Golf Shop before play, however they will then be able to select their tee of choice through the Mi-Score app. Before selection, you will see course ratings and what your handicap would be off each tee.

Keperra Bowl 2024 Results

Keperra Bowl 2024 Results

Congratulations to our 2024 Keperra Bowl Champions Jazy Roberts (-8) of Belvoir Park Golf Club & Jye Halls (-12) of NSW Golf Club.

The Club wishes to make special mention of our own Gents Club Champion Wes Hinton who is the first Keperra Member to share the lead after 72 holes and participate in a playoff. Wes drained an extremely slippery left to right putt on the 18th hole to reach -12 (as per below). Sadly Wes was only able to secure par on the first playoff hole while Halls managed a birdie. Well done Wes and to all our Keperra Members who participated. For a full wrap up of the event – please click here to view.
