2025 Ladies Pennant – Update

2025 Ladies Pennant – Update

Round 2: Weekend Ladies Yellow Diamond Pennants

Last Sunday, Round 2 of the Weekend Ladies Yellow Diamond Pennant was held at McLeod Country Golf Club. With a tee off time near midday, it was exceptionally hot for the ladies and caddies.

Unfortunately, we narrowly went down to Royal Queensland 4-3. Congratulations to Angela Gordon 8/6, Savannah Rains 1up and Mel Robertson 3/1 who all got up. A tough battle for Ella Gould who narrowly lost 1 down on the 18th. Julie Lakotij, Bonita Tyler and Nic Waddington fought hard in trying conditions.

Next Sunday 30 March the ladies play at home against McLeod Country Golf Club. If any members can come out and support that would be welcomed!

We would like to extend a thank you to club pennant sponsor (and Member Phil Wuersching) from Jim’s Test & Tag. We appreciate your ongoing support.

Round 1: Weekend Ladies Yellow Diamond Pennants

Congratulations to the Weekend Yellow Diamond Women who kicked off the pennant season by defeating The Brisbane Golf Club at Brisbane on Sunday 16 March.

The Team fought hard against the home team and came away with a 4-3 win. Accolades to Ella Gould who won her first pennant match, 2up; Nic Waddington with a 3/1 win, Savannah Rains with a dominant 5/3 win and Angela (Flash) Gordon who won resoundingly – 5/4.

After being 4 down after 11, Mel Robertson fought hard to get a square but fell short going 1 down on the last. Julie Lakotij (Captain) led the team going out as Number 1. She played very well against a tough opponent, going down 4/2. Bonita Tyler unfortunately couldn’t capitalise on some excellent shots and was defeated 3/2.

Congratulations ladies. We would like to thank the caddies who came out to support. An excellent win!

We would also like to extend a thank you to club pennant sponsor (and Member Phil Wuersching) from Jim’s Test & Tag. We appreciate your ongoing support.
