Gents Pennant Season

At the of time writing, the club is halfway through this year's BDGA Division 1 Pennant Season. This year Keperra is up against Brisbane, Royal Queensland and Indooroopilly Golf Clubs. Round 1 had Keperra hosting Indooroopilly, with 8 matches out of the 21 going to the 18th hole - it was going to come down to the wire.  The team however fought hard and were able to come away with a 12-9 victory.

Week 2 saw the team venture to defending champions, Brisbane. This was always going to be a tall order to secure a win away from home and in the end, despite some good golf, Keperra went down 6.5 to 14.5.

Another tough away match for week 3 saw the team taking on Royal Queensland. Challenging conditions greeted players and in the end the home course experience was too much for the team to overcome with a 14 - 7 result to Royal Queensland.

This weekend Indooroopilly will play host to KCGC, with hopefully a repeat of the Round 1 result on the cards. For any Members looking to see some good golf and support the team, matches will start from 7am Sunday morning and we're sure the players will be extremely grateful to see some KCGC Members in the crowd.

Again the Club would like to thank Member Phil Wuersching from Jim's Test & Tag for his support of all our Pennant teams in 2024.

Course news

Members will have noticed the course and maintenance Team have been busy with the early stages of the selected Tee upgrades.  These works are expected to continue over the next 4 weeks and ultimately will add much needed additional tee playing spaces.  While the warmer weather isn't too far away, there is still an increased importance attached to repairing divots and pitch marks.

Sponsor spotlight - inspire Health

For a long time, golfers have understood that improving the way in which they swing the club leads to achieving better outcomes on the course. Whilst this has predominantly been through working with a club pro to better understand their technique, we have realised that a big element is factors like flexibility, strength, previous injury etc. Recognising this, we have been working with golfers to promote better movement and create a better, more effective and more sustainable swing.

Inspire has created a short questionnaire (taking approximately 2 minutes to complete), to help us better understand you, your golf game and where we may be able to provide any help.

Please feel free to complete this at your own leisure, and the team will be more than happy to provide you with tailored resources to assist you and your game:
