Keperra Bowl 2024

Congratulations to our 2024 Keperra Bowl Champions Jazy Roberts (-8) of Belvoir Park Golf Club & Jye Halls (-12) of NSW Golf Club.

The Club wishes to make special mention of our own Gents Club Champion Wes Hinton who is the first Keperra Member to share the lead after 72 holes and participate in a playoff. Wes drained an extremely slippery left to right putt on the 18th hole to reach -12. Sadly, Wes was only able to secure par on the first playoff hole while Halls managed a birdie. Well done Wes and to all our Keperra Members who participated. For a full wrap up of the event - please click here to view.  As always the Club wishes to acknowledge the assistance provided to the Club by the many volunteers who gave up their time to assist in the running of the event.  Your efforts are very much appreciated.

Renovation Update

The Green renovations are to date going to plan despite the storm that rolled through earlier last week.  The Fairways and tees have been fertilised with the fairways on holes 10-18 having had their first mow last week.  The irrigation over the weekend will have helped the sand settle into their profile.

Dusting has commenced today and will continue on a weekly schedule (throughout growing season) which will help aid in the recovery from the renovations.

Multi Tee Blocks

Members may be aware of a move towards Multi Tee options for players in competition rounds. This topic has been discussed at length by the Match Committee and the decision has been made to trial this option for Members, beginning with the Wednesday Competition on the November 6th. At this stage we will only offering this option to our Male Members, as the ability to provide our Women Members another alternative is currently limited due to a lack of tee blocks located in a position where tees can be moved any further forward. However, with the newly constructed tee blocks, we are confident of being able to get additional course ratings for both the Women and Men.

Wes at the QLD PGA

The Club wishes to acknowledge the recent efforts of Wesley Hinton.  Wes had the trip of a lifetime after being selected to travel and stay with Cameron Smith in Jacksonville as part of Cam's Scholarship program in conjunction with Golf Australia. Cam then joined Wes for a practice round before the Bowl and was even on site to watch him sink his tricky birdie putt on the 72nd hole to join a playoff.  Wes went onto play at last week's QLD Queensland PGA alongside Smith and fellow scholarship recipient Kayun Mudadana at Nudgee Golf Club.  Sadly Wes missed the cut by just one shot with his final chip lipping out for Birdie.  For a full story on Wes's inclusion in the Queensland PGA - please click here

Past Presidents & Captains Morning Tea

During this year's Keperra Bowl, the Club hosted a morning tea for its past Presidents, captains, 50 year and life members.  A total of 35 guests attended with plenty of old friends enjoying the opportunity to reminisce about their time at Keperra.  The overwhelming response was how much Keperra has grown as a Club and specifically, how the changes implemented over the last 10-15 years have improved the overall experience for Members and Guests.  The Club looks forward to hosting this event again in 2025.
